Why Investing in Porcelain Veneers Pays Off

Veneers are an easy way to improve the appearance of your smile, and can be placed over natural teeth for a variety of reasons.

Benefits of Dental Veneers

  • Discolored Teeth- Your teeth naturally lose their shine as you grow older, and getting your teeth whitened is only a temporary solution. If you teeth are repeatedly stained by coffee, wine, or tobacco use, veneers can help you retain a beautiful white smile. Porcelain veneers resist stains easier than other veneer materials, like resin composite. Porcelain also mimics the light reflecting properties of natural teeth better than other materials and can last much longer.
  • Broken Teeth- If one of your visible front teeth are chipped, cracked or broken, porcelain veneers can be placed over top of your natural teeth to protect the remaining parts of the teeth. Porcelain veneers will also provide the patient with a more attractive smile since the broken, cracked, or chipped teeth are hidden behind the veneer.
  • Uneven Teeth- Misaligned teeth can make for an awkward smile. When multiple teeth are crooked, uneven, or misaligned braces are often installed to correct the problem. However, when only one tooth is uneven or misaligned, porcelain veneers are you best course of action.
  • Close Gaps- Sometimes teeth grow in too far apart, causing gaps between the teeth. Porcelain veneers can be placed over top the affected teeth, closing these gaps. If there are multiple gaps between teeth, braces will correct it, but when there is only a single gap, porcelain veneers are more efficient.

Why Porcelain?

Other materials can be used to manufacture a dental veneer, although none are as popular as porcelain. Porcelain is the most common material used to produce a dental veneer because of its strength and ability to mimic natural teeth. Porcelain better mimics the light reflective properties of natural teeth and looks more natural than resin composite veneers.
